More cars were sold in 1967 than in 1966 and 1966 combined at 3,225 Shelby Mustang
Shelby American offered two levels of ’67 Shelby Mustangs, a small block GT 350 with the Ford HiPo 289 engine or the GT 500 with the 428. This is the first year you could opt for a big block car. Shelby one upped the stock big block Mustang by offering the special Police Interceptor 428 in the GT 500’s.
